Berfin Hançoban
I am currently pursuing my studies in International Relations and conduct academic research on foreign policy, international politics, diplomacy, international security, security policies, defense studies, and geopolitics. Through my research, I aim to examine global and regional developments through the lens of international relations theories, approaching contemporary issues from an analytical and interdisciplinary perspective. Throughout my university education, I have actively participated in national and international projects, taking responsibility for project development, coordination, and team management. These experiences have contributed significantly to the development of my research, analytical, and strategic planning skills within the field of international relations. I view this platform as a space that supports my academic development and allows me to share my research and work. My aim is not merely to report on international developments, but to produce content that examines them through cause-and-effect relationships, draws upon academic literature, and offers readers an analytical perspective. I continue to follow the evolving dynamics of international relations and share my research and analyses with the public.

Intern at the Politics and Strategy Platform
Siyaset ve Strateji Platformu / Politics and Strategy Platform
As part of the Japanese Foreign Policy Internship/Training Program, I conducted comprehensive studies on Japan’s political and social structure, culture, and foreign policy dynamics. Throughout the program, I examined Japan-U.S. relations and the bilateral alliance, key areas of tension between Japan and China, as well as Japan-Türkiye relations and the defense industry. To consolidate the knowledge and skills I gained throughout the program, I prepared an academic analysis on Japan’s defense policies. This study allowed me to transform the theoretical knowledge acquired during the program into a lasting academic output through research and analytical work. It also provided me with the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of Japan’s security approach, regional position, and the implications of its defense policies for international relations.
